Anaheim Sends Fraser To Leafs For Mitchell

The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired right wing Dale Mitchell from the Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Mark Fraser. Mitchell has appeared in 60 career AHL contests with the Toronto Marlies, scoring 7-9=16 points with 33 penalty minutes (and a +3 rating. Selected by Toronto in the third round (74th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Mitchell is a two-time Memorial Cup winner with the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL in both 2009 and 2010. Fraser appeared in 25 contests with Syracuse this season (Anaheim's AHL affiliate), scoring 0-5=5 points with 35 PIM. Fraser has played in 98 career NHL contests with the Devils, earning 3-5=8 points and 86 PIM.

Ducks Trade Gordon To Canucks For Erixon

The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Sebastian Erixon from the Canucks in exchange for right wing Andrew Gordon. Erixon appeared in 30 contests for the Chicago Wolves of the AHL this season, scoring 1-7=8 points with 10 penalty minutes. A native of Sundsvall, Sweden, Erixon scored his first goal on Dec. 10 vs. Milwaukee in a 4-2 Wolves win. The 5-10, 183-pound blueliner played three full seasons (2008-11) and portions of two seasons (2006-08) with Timra IK of the Swedish Elite League, earning 12-22=34 points in 167 career games. Gordon scored 2-3=5 points with six PIM in 37 games with the Ducks this season. Signed by Anaheim as a free agent on July 2, 2011, Gordon also played in 19 contests with Syracuse (AHL) in 2011-12, scoring 3-5=8 points with 10 PIM.

The Rangers acquired the biggest player on trade-deadline day Monday, at least in a literal sense. The top team in the Eastern Conference acquired the 6-foot-8, 270-pound John Scott from the Blackhawks to add some blue-line depth in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2012 Entry Draft.

Bruins Get Rolston, Mottau From Isles For Prospects

The Islanders sent forward Brian Rolston and defenseman Mike Mottau to the Bruins in the minutes before Monday's 3 p.m. trade deadline, multiple sources confirmed. Boston sent prospects Yannick Riendeau and Marc Cantin to the Islanders in the deal, the source said. In addition to getting Rolston and Mottau from the Islanders, the Bruins also acquired defeseman Greg Zanon from the Wild for defenseman Steven Kampfer, a league source confirmed to ESPNBoston.com's James Murphy.

Report: Canucks Deal For Sami Pahlsson

The Blue Jackets have reportedly traded veteran center Sami Pahlsson to the Canucks in exchange for a pair of fourth-round draft picks. Pahlsson will be reunited with good friends and fellow Swedes Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin in Vancouver, where he joins a team that is currently first in the Western Conference. "I guess it's nice; it's been a tough run for us (in Columbus) and I just hope I have some good game left," Pahlsson told TSN. "I hope I do; don't see any reason why I couldn't do it again."

The Blackhawks have been pursuing a veteran to bolster their defense corps for the better part of February, and they made a deal for one just before the trade deadline Monday, according to TSN. Chicago reportedly added Johnny Oduya from the Winnipeg Jets for a pair of draft picks.

The Lightning have acquired defenseman Brian Lee from the Senators in exchange for defenseman Matt Gilroy today, Vice President and GM Steve Yzerman announced. Lee has played in 167 career NHL games, all with the Senators. He has amassed five goals and 28 points after making his NHL debut during the 2007-08 season. A native of Moorhead, Minnesota, Lee has played in 123 career AHL games with the Binghamton Senators, recording eight goals and 52 points. Lee was drafted by the Senators in the first round, ninth overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Edmonton and Minnesota swapped defensemen Nick Schultz and Tom Gilbert on Monday, as the offensive-minded Gilbert is headed to the Wild in exchange for defensive-minded Schultz. Both players have two more years remaining on their respective contracts, with Gilbert's calling for a cap hit of $4M while Schultz comes with a $3.5M hit. "This is all I know," a shocked Schultz told Mike Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune upon learning of the trade.

Lightning Acquire Commodore From Wings

The Lightning have acquired defenseman Mike Commodore from the Red Wings in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Vice President and GM Steve Yzerman announced today. Commodore has played in 471 career NHL games with the Devils, Flames, Hurricanes, Senators, Blue Jackets and the Red Wings during an 11-year career. He has amassed 23 goals and 106 points in his career. Commodore won the Stanley Cup in 2006 with the Hurricanes and was also part of the 2004 Flames team that lost to the Lightning in the Stanley Cup Finals. Commodore has played in 17 games this season with Detroit, recording two assists and averaging 11:29 in ice time per game. It was his first season with the Red Wings. Commodore was signed by Detroit as a free agent on July 1, 2011.
